This is especially important if your cat is allergic to bee stings, just as humans can be, or if she\u2019s been stung multiple times. Here\u2019s what to know.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"size-15\" lang=\"x-size-15\">What are the symptoms?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"size-15\" lang=\"x-size-15\">Cats are most often stung on the face or paws, so check for any swelling or enflamed areas. This can be more difficult on long-haired cats, so also watch for excessive licking or biting as this can direct you to a possible injury.<\/p>\n<p class=\"size-15\" lang=\"x-size-15\">Signs of an allergic reaction\u00a0include rapid breathing, diarrhea, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or pale gums. These symptoms are typically apparent within the first 15 minutes of a bee sting. Cats tend to be skilled at hiding pain, so pay close attention to any unusual behavior. Call your veterinarian right away if you believe your cat may be having an allergic reaction.<\/p>\n<h2>What should I do if my cat gets stung by a bee?<\/h2>\n<p>First, remain calm. If your cat is not displaying the symptoms described above,\u00a0remove the stinger by pulling it with your fingers or by scraping it out with a credit card from below the poison sac. Do not use tweezers or attempt to squeeze the stinger out as this can actually push more poison into your cat\u2019s body.
